European Trade Fairs
We’re off to Europe for the trade fairs: ISM in Colone with a focus on confectionery and Europain in Paris with a focus on food service.
This is an annual trip when several of us go seeking new product and to talk with suppliers. There will be many meetings with manufacturers and factory visits.

Christmas Season Trading Days
Merry Christmas and and Happy New Year to all our customers and suppliers.
In the spirit of the holiday season we too enjoy some time off work. Apromo Trading closes public holidays. For other normal business days we will trade normal hours. As is our usual practice, we are closed on all Saturdays and Sundays.
This means:
Friday 23rd December 2016 – Open.
Saturday 24th December 2016 – Closed.

Gault & Millau 2017 Launch
Gault&Millau publish an annual restaurant guide for the Australian fine dining scene, with their Yellow Guide benchmarking restaurants based upon anonymous dining by qualified reviewers. The 2017 Gault&Millau Australia Restaurant Guide was launched Monday 7th November 2016 at The Park, Albert Park, Melbourne. Winners of eight awards were announced at this event. Chisholm Institute Masterclass
Filip Tibos led a successful Belcolade master class at the Chisholm institute on 13th October 2016.
Chisholm Institute is a Technical and Further Education Institute with several locations across Melbourne. Among the adult education it provides is patisserie training for apprenticed and qualified chefs. Apromo Trading is proud to support this education.

Pastry Chef of the Year Finalist
Mark Dorrell Chief Judge from Gault & Millau Australia, along with Guy Roose and Dominique Van Droogenbroeck from Apromo Trading visited the Shangri-La Sydney hotel on 19th September 2016 to present Chef Anna Polyviou with a celebratory plate recognising her as a finalist in the Gault & Millau Pastry Chef of the Year Award.

Fine Food Fair 2016 Report
Fine Food Fair 2016 in Melbourne was a successful and busy event for Apromo Trading. Our demonstrations were popular and well received. We were busy talking to the many people who visited our stand, and will continue to be busy in the weeks ahead following up with those asking about our products. Anecdotally this year seemed busier than last, which we are very pleased with.

Software Migration
Having outgrown our old inventory software, we are currently changing to new business software. This means changing the procedures of many of our daily activities.
We expect this to lead to many improvements in our systems in the long term, but first we have to endure the implementation. We hope to minimize any impact to our customers during this period.
